Why does everyone assume Alberta will join the United States? Albertans are conservative Christians for the most part. After 120 years of being ignored by a capitol city thousands of miles to the east that spends money like water, pushes DEI ideology, diversity, pride month etc trading Ottawa for Washington would be more of the same old thing. My relatives in Calgary are appalled by what passes for morality in California and want no part of it. Now if Texas, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma were to secede and join Alberta that new nation would be filled with hardworking Christians with more oil than Saudi Arabia.
