Its a near certainty none of these problems can be solved by voting. So long as you keep that in mind , it won't bother you.
The reason is simple, you take power and you use that. All the normal rules no longer apply and you can do anything your people will tolerate to get what you want.
The post war period has truly been an exceptional time for the USA but that doesn't mean we have avoided the arc of history, All the ugliness will come here as it has everywhere . You don't want someone near you? Make them leave before the do it to you.
