Nope.

  1. As someone with a loved one in a long term care facility I can shed some light I hope. Start with the fact that Medicare pays the hospice bill and the foundation for abuse and scamming is set. L.A. seems to be the absolute worst place, but the problem is everywhere. In 2018, when my mom came put of the hospital, she was given a grim diagnosis and was put on hospice. She lived just a few weeks short of 6 months ( the general guidelines for a hospice 'prescription' -yes, it requires a doctor's prescription). My sister in law is currently also in a long term care facility, also with Alzheimer's, and hospice was being PUSHED on her/my wife by the facility basically as a means to address their own inability to find adequate staff or to want to spend the money to hire them. Sadly, it flies. Her condition degenerated so much that hospice was required, but we know of many other families being 'pushed' to seek out hospice for these reasons with loved ones nowhere near death theoretically. I'm not sure when it went from 'near death care' to just more hands to help, but somewhere between 2018 and now (Covid anyone??). Speaking from the Atlanta metro area.

  4. So, further evidence of what many of us suspected all along.
The only question now is, who gets punished? When do we hold people to account? Is there any recompense for the funds that are lost? Surely we can sell the perp's mansions and luxury cars to lower the tax-bill next year, no?
Sigh... Fucked. We are completely fucked, the system is fucked, nothing is going to ever work right again, it's all fucked.
    Burn it down.
